As of last year, Lady Gaga has already received 487 award nominations, 321 of them she won— all within the span of six years since she started her musical career in 2008. Barely a year since her debut album was launched, she already received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording for her Just Dance single, and four nominations at the American Music Awards. It was in the same year that she won the Rising Star Award at the Billboard Awards.

It was also in that year, 2009, that she won international awards such as International Artist and International Music Video awards at the Channel [V] Thailand Music Video Awards; Best New Artist at the ESKA Music Awards; Guinness World Records’ Most Cumulative Weeks on the UK Singles Chart in One Year and Most Downloaded Female Act in a Year; Breakthrough Solo Artist and Best Pop Dance Track at the International Dance Music Awards; Best New Artist International and Song of the Year at the MTV Latin Music Awards, Best New Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards; International Video of the Year — Artist at the MuchMusic Video Awards; English Breakthrough of the Year, English Album of the Year, and English Record of the Year at the Mexican Oye Awards; Best Video for the British Q Awards; Choice Music: Hook Up at the Teens Choice Awards; Record of the Year at the British Record of the Year Awards; Best International Video at the UK Music Video Awards; and Hottest Female as well as the unflattering Shameless Publicity Seeker at the Virgin Media Music Awards.

Just a year later, in 2010, she won the first two of her five Grammy Awards— Best Electronic/Dance Album and Best Dance Recording. That same year, she also won Pop/Rock Music Artist at the American Music Awards. It was also then that she started receiving the award for the Most Performed Song on ASCAP— an award she kept winning consecutively every year without fail, and the latest of which was just last year.

Since then, Lady Gaga has garnered countless awards from different prestigious award-giving bodies both locally and internationally, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Special for her Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden film, and countless Billboard Music Awards where she has since became a constant awardee and record-holder.
